The SHED Yeovil

Yeovil Lions donated £550 to provide a new secure dry shelter for a group of mothers in the Yeovil area so they can store their prams and pushchairs in a safe place. A local company Hallstock Sheds kindly gave their labour to erect the shed and remove the previous shed which had gone beyond repair. A new solid level base was made prior to the shed being erected to ensure to would stand correctly and aid its assembly.

Scouts 2016

The 3rd Sparkford scout group requested some assistance to purchase new equipment for their upcoming summer camp. This would be used by the scouts and cubs form Sparkford, Queen Camel, North and South Cadbury, Corton Denham, and Marston Magna. Their fund raising efforts over the previous two years had produced result enough to purchase some new equipment but they were still needing one tent for the cubs to use. The existing tent for the cubs was now every old and not in a fit state to be used again. Most of the equipment had been inherited. Camps allow the cubs and scouts the opportunities to learn and develop skills, work as teams, be independent away from families and have fun.

Gryphon School,

Geoff Cooke a maths lecturer and head of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme at the Gryphon School, Sherborne, receiving a contribution towards their new trailer. This donation was made by Dawn and Peter Lunn of Yeovil Lion’s Club Untamed. To transport all the equipment, students and back packs etc to various locations in order for the students to train for the ‘Ten Tor’s’ and the ‘Duke of Edinburgh’ award scheme, the Gryphon school required assistance to purchase a suitable box trailer. Previously they had been transporting everything in the schools mini bus which was overloading it.
