Lions Ladies Lunch 2016
- Start: | End:
The Yeovil Lions has given a cash boost to a charity which raises awareness of breast cancer in young people.
The group has donated £3,000 to CoppaFeel which is a charity which educates and reminds every young person in the UK that checking their boobs isn’t only fun, it could save their life. They are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling a new healthy habit that could one day save their life.
The money was raised at a ladies lunch held in December at Bespoke Gin House, Newton Surmaville House, attended by over 60 local ladies.
Handing over the cheque, Myra Montague, Lions, commented: "It all went brilliantly and I'm delighted that we raised so much for this very worthwhile cause and we would like to say a big thank you to all the big-hearted ladies who attended the lunch and donated so generously”. Kirsty Jones, Fundraising Campaigns Manager for CoppaFeel said “This is such an amazing amount of money and we are so grateful to you and the local ladies Lions for all your fundraising efforts.” Jane Cannon, from Surmaville House, accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity.
